The caring Neighbourhood Scheme is our voluntary visiting scheme.  Volunteers are carefully matched with and visit socially isolated or housebound older people in their own homes on a regular basis, sharing a cup of tea and a chat. The visiting scheme is intended to be a long term relationship and real friendships are often forged. The 'Phonelink scheme provides an alternative to a visitor and  a small team of volunteers ring the same older people each week to check that they are ok, to catch up on the news and to provide a vital link to the outside world. The Caring Neighbourhood Scheme is currenlty supporting 90 of the boroughs most frail and vunerable older people.
